TURNOVERS, POOR TACKLING LEAD TO EAGLES BLOWOUT LOSS TO ARIZONA

Al Thompson

The Eagles lost to the Arizona Cardinals 40-17 at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday night on national television.
Incredibly the Birds are still in control if the NFC East despite the win by the Washington Redskins and despite falling to 6-8 on the season.
If the Birds come away with wins over Washington at home next Saturday night and against the Giants the following Sunday, they host a playoff game.

LOSS TO CAROLINA HAS BIG BLUE ON THE BRINK

Michael Eisen

The Giants lost for the fourth time in five games, and fell to 6-8. They are one game behind Washington in the NFC East. Philadelphia, the third team tied for first place before the Week 15 games, plays Arizona Sunday night. The Giants can still win the division, but according to the Elias Sports Bureau, if the Eagles win Sunday night, the Giants will need the Philadelphia-Washington game next Saturday to end in a tie.

GIANTS D-LINE GOES RETRO – BIG BLUE BRINGS BACK BARRY COFIELD

Michael Eisen

Last month, the Giants brought back a member of their Super Bowl XLVI championship team when they signed wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
This week, they reached deeper into their past when they signed defensive tackle Barry Cofield, who played on the Giants team that won Super Bowl XLII. Like Nicks, Cofield did not play a down in the 2015 season before joining his old team and is eager to line up and help out. The Giants host the undefeated Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Q. You have five penalties yesterday. That sounds like an improvement. Is that based on what you are saying about everybody being able to practice?

ANGRY BIRDS KEEP NFC EAST IN SIGHT, EDGE BUFFALO 23-2O

Al Thompson

Many of the Eagles in the post game locker room sported T-Shirts that said “53 Angry Men.”
The slogan on the shirts provided by Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie is an obvious reference to their rekindled passion on the field.
For the past two weeks the Eagles have played angry and the result was wins over teams many thought this team would not win.
Sunday’s 23-20 win over Shady McCoy and the Buffalo Bills (6-7) put the Eagles (6-7) on a clear path to win the NFC East and host a payoff game at the Linc.
