It didn’t take Patrick Banning to get over the mourning process that all athletes endure when their season prematurely ends. The Neumann-Goretti 6-foot-2, 287-pound two-way lineman took a day off, after the Saints lost to Dunmore, 30-18, in the PIAA Class AA state quarterfinals. Last week the Eagles took USC wide receiver Nelson Agholor with the No. 20 pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
It was a solid pick. Agholor’s body of work at Southern Cal was outstanding, finishing his career with 179 catches for 2,571 yards and 20 touchdowns in 30 games, becoming just the 12th Trojan to notch 2,000 receiving yards in a career.

Nelson Agholor is a nice start. On a perfect spring night in the Windy City Mr. Agholor’s name was called in the first round, the fourth wide receiver drafted on the special night. Eventually two more wide receivers’ name would be called in the first round, making it a total of six new shiny toys for their respective teams to highlight and amalgamate into their scheme.
