LONDON – Given the events of Sunday afternoon in Twickenham Stadium, a more appropriate dateline for this story would be LANDON.
The Eagles rebounded from their two-game losing streak with an ugly, turnover filled 21-10 win over the previously undefeated Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Eagles (4-2) moved to within a game of the idle NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys (5-1) who are on their bye week.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Grant Haley (Atlanta, Ga.) returned a field goal blocked by Marcus Allen (Upper Marlboro, Md.) 60 yards for the game-winning touchdown, as Penn State erased a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat No. 2 Ohio State, 24-21, Saturday night in front of a Penn State White Out crowd of 107,280 in Beaver Stadium. The Buckeyes had won 78 straight games when leading by 14 or more points in the fourth quarter.
During the pregame show Penn States Blue Band Flag’s were blowing directly from right to left. There was no hint of the awesome Northeastern Fall weather slowing down. First of all the fans, I can vouch for this, a night game at Happy Valley is to be avoided at all costs by an on the road visitor. Pennsylvanians don’t care about the weather, most fans are college students and alumni but many more are blue collar workers on their day off, give them an entire day of tailgating with hype and you will have a colosseum of chaos. The second may be Penn State’s defense. One that I had left for dead against Michigan and saw some signs of life from during the Minnesota game all told they came back to life when they were needed. The offense had some sparks of their own.
“There’s a way to win every game,” said Temple head coach Matt Rhule after his team beat USF 46-30 on Friday night at Lincoln Financial Field to move into first place in the American Athletic Conference East Division. “Bill Parcells said that and I believe it.” The way had to be try to slow the […]
In addition to suffering their second consecutive loss of the still-young season to the Washington Redskins last week, the Eagles most likely lost starting defensive tackle Bennie Logan fore at least one game.
Logan has not practice this week and it looks more and more like third-year tackle Beau Allen will tapped by Pederson to start this week when the Birds (3-2) take on Sam Bradford and the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at the Linc (FOX 1 p.m. 94.1 FM WIP).
