The City of Philadelphia became a better place this weekend thanks to Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin and his Make The World Better (MTWB) Foundation. On Friday, June 20, Barwin hosted a benefit concert at Union Transfer to raise money for the Ralph Brooks revitalization project, a South Philly park located at 20th and Tasker, in need of a transformation. In a truly collaborative effort which brought together athletes, musical artists, public officials and fans, the benefit concert raised $85,000. That sum will be matched by Barwin’s MTWB Foundation for a grand total of $170,000.
The Philadelphia Eagles announced their training camp schedule today, which begins with all players reporting to the NovaCare Complex on Friday, July 25. This year’s training camp features three open practices, including one on Sunday, August 10 at historic Franklin Field, the home of the Eagles from 1958-70.

The “Make The World Better Foundation” (MTWB), established in 2013 by Barwin, will hold its inaugural benefit concert at Philadelphia music venue Union Transfer June 20, 2014, featuring 2013’s “Philly Artist of the Year” Kurt Vile and the Violators.
Barwin informs there are three area bands to perform June 20, two are from the Delaware Valley, both are getting looks at the national level. In addition to Kurt Vile the plus The Districts are from here.
Also performing are The Tontons from Houston, home of the Houston Texans, the other NFL team Barwin played for before joining the Eagles before the 2013 season.
Army veterans Alejandro Villanueva now with the Eagles, and the Soul’s Morkeith Brown talk about adjusting to life after war. Brown is in his second year with the Soul and Villanueva is a rookie with the Eagles. Both are defensive linemen.
The MHP Team Member played well enough as the Eagles sixth man on the offensive line, the Birds signed him to three more years to help bolster an already outstanding blocking unit.
