Several young Eagles players are getting their first experience at competing against a team for the second time in a season since high school, and in some cases for the first time ever.

While NFL teams in Green Bay, Boston, Denver, Indianapolis and Philadelphia are playing football games to determine a playoff spot or improve their seeding, players on teams like the Giants, Titans, Jets and Jacksonville are competing to keep jobs.
In some cases players are actually getting a chance to audition, if not with the team they are currently with, then for teams who might be scouting these games.
The game between the Giants and Titans (FOX 1 p.m. ET) will not be flexed for prime time.
Combined the two teams have just five wins.

There are football fans out there who think kickers are just soccer players pulled off the pitch for a few hours every week to kick extra points and field goals.
Those people are wrong. Football kickers make it to the top of their position on the Grid Iron the same way quarterbacks, lineman, defensive backs, running backs, linebackers and receivers do: With passion, drive, dedication, talent a strong work ethic.

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is a standout running back who has been consistently solid statistically since he was drafted by Buffalo in the first round in 2007.
What makes him a superstar is his backbreaking ability to get a few extra yards on almost every play. He may be one of the toughest runners to bring down in the history of the league.

Five players were placed on injured reserve: offensive linemen Geoff Schwartz (ankle) and Adam Snyder (knee), defensive ends Mathias Kiwanuka (knee) and Robert Ayers (pectoral), and linebacker Terrell Manning (ankle).
That group increases the number of Giants players on injured reserve to 20, including rookie Bennett Jackson, who is on practice squad/injured list.

Tom Coughlin has coached the Giants for 11 seasons and in the NFL for 19, and when you are in the job that long, losing streaks are unavoidable. A 25-24 loss yesterday to the Jacksonville Jaguars left a Coughlin-coached team with a losing streak of at least seven games for the third time in his distinguished career. His 1995 expansion Jaguars lost seven in a row and in 2004, his first Giants team dropped eight consecutive games.
