PENN STATE POSTGAME JAMES FRANKLIN

Penn State vs. Indiana University Post Game
October 10, 2015

Opening Statement
I want to thank the fans and the media for coming, supporting us and covering our game. Obviously a great environment here, homecoming. We had all of our family members back in town for a family reunion. The weather was significant for us today. We’ve had some tough situations when it comes to weather. I thought out defense played really well and consistent all day long, especially after the onside kick and the fumble. We go into a point in the game where the field position was swinging more and we were punting really well. I think that factored in. We also had a kick out of bounse which factored in. Our defense was put in a few tough situations and handled it extremely well. I thought we were much more aggressive on offense in the passing game, made some plays. I still feel like we left some yards on the field. We did some nice things. It was a great team win.

GIANTS NOTEBOOK II

Michael Eisen

By Michael Eisen
October 8, 2015

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Since 2012, when the NFL expanded to 32 teams, only three teams have finished first in run defense and last in pass defense in the same season: the 2006 and 2007 Minnesota Vikings, and the 2012 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

EAGLES HEAD COACH CHIP KELLY PRESS CONFERENCE OCTOBER 8, 2015

admin

Q. When you think about that playoff game against the Saints in 2013, in your first year, what do you think about? What comes to mind?
CHIP KELLY: We didn’t make enough plays, especially down near the end. I thought we put ourselves in a hole; we were down 20-7 at one point. There are a […]

KELLY, EAGLES UNDER PRESSURE TO TURN SEASON AROUND

Al Thompson

LANDOVER: Sunday’s NFC East showdown with the Washington Redskins wasn’t a must win game for the Eagles, it was a game the Birds needed to establish that what we all saw in the preseason wasn’t a mirage. After the Birds dropped a heartbreaking 23-20 decision you have to admit that maybe it was. Inconsistency was […]

SEPTEMBER IS THE NEW AUGUST IN THE NFL

Brian Baldinger

By Brian Baldinger

In 1982, I went to my rookie training camp with the Dallas Cowboys. We had 15 rookie drafted players (it was a 12-round draft then), and they had signed 103 rookie free agents. It added up to a grand total of 118 rookies, and along with selected veterans, made for a great proving ground. I was undrafted, a free-agent signing and NOBODY knew my name. But we had 10 days of 2-a-day practices in full pads every morning and afternoon every day for 10 days before the veterans showed up.

OFFENSE FINDING ITS WAY EARLY IN 2015

By DAVE SPADARO
Eagles Insider

When the Eagles blitzed Green Bay in the third game of the preseason and quarterback Sam Bradford completed 10 passes in 10 attempts and threw 3 touchdowns, the performance set off the kind of expectations for an Eagles offense not seen since the Terrell Owens-mania offense of 2004. It was off the charts.

EAGLES NOTEBOOK : SPROLES ONCE AGAIN IS ‘MIGHTY MOUSE’

admin

When Eagles running back Darren Sproles crossed the goal line into the end zone, completing an 89-yard punt return for a touchdown, Eagles long time radio announcer Merrill Reese screamed that “Mighty Mouse” had done it again.
Great nickname and a great play.

EAGLES HANG ON TO DEFEAT JETS, EARN FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON

Al Thompson

The Eagles jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first half against the New York Jets then held on for dear life, winning their first game of the season, 24-17 at MetLife Stadium.
The Birds (1-2) were finally able to get a running game going, producing 123 net yards on 39 total carries.
The passing game left a lot to be desired, but a win is a win.
