Q. A lot of the talk during the week was how it was going to be tough to get to Giants QB Eli Manning, or at least it had been through the first few weeks, and you were able to generate a good amount of pressure; what was the key to that? COACH KELLY: […]
The Eagles-Giants Monday Night Football matchup may have seemed somewhat patriotic if you think about it…there were flags everywhere but they were all yellow.
The teams combined for 21 penalties for 164 yards. In the end though, the Eagles mistakes – and there were many – didn’t impact the game nearly much as the 12 fouls called on Big Blue as the Birds marched into first place with a 27-7 win over their turnpike rivals and took a slim lead in the mediocre NFC East.
*The Giants’ three-game winning streak ended and they fell to 3-3. They are tied atop the NFC East with Philadelphia and host Dallas on Sunday.
*This is the second year in a row a 3-2 Giants team that had won three games in a row lost to the Eagles in Lincoln Financial Field. Last season, the score was 27-0.
*The Giants are just 3-12 in their last 15 regular-season games vs. Philadelphia.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Odell Beckham Jr. was non-committal and Rueben Randle was confident in assessing their chances today of playing Monday night, when the Giants will tangle with the Eagles in Lincoln Financial Field.
EAGLES-SAINTS POST-GAME NOTES – OCTOBER 11, 2015
Forcing the Issue … The Eagles defense forced four Saints turnovers, including three fumbles and an interception. Those four takeaways led to 19 points … The Eagles have forced at least one turnover in 11 straight games for a total of 26 during that span … LB Jordan Hicks recovered a fumble for the third-consecutive game.
*Larry Donnell scored the game-winning touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Eli Manning with 21 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. It was the latest the Giants have scored a go-ahead, game-winning touchdown since Nov. 6, 2011, when Manning‘s one-yard touchdown pass to Jake Ballard with 15 seconds remaining enabled them to win at New England, 24-20.
For the Eagles and the New Orleans Saints, Sunday’s game at the Linc was a de facto relegation game for the 1-3 teams.
Whichever team lost would be looking at a wasted season.
The Eagles stayed very much in the hunt with a convincing 39-17 win that had it not been for two early interceptions by the ever-improving Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford, the blowout could have been much worse.
The 2-3 Eagles next face the New York Giants (3-2) this Monday night with a chance to take over first place in the competitive NFC East. Big Blue beat the San Francisco 49ers 30-27 on a 12-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Larry Donnell with 26 seconds left in the game.
