Penn State’s Homecoming game against Indiana slated for noon on October 10
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; October 4, 2015 – Saturday’s Homecoming game against Indiana will air on ESPN2 at noon. Beth Mowins, Anthony Becht, & Paul Carcaterra will be calling the action.

When your football team is the defending State Champion, has won 15 straight games dating back to the start of the 2014 season and is loaded with talent, the expectations can be overwhelming. Many teams might come out flat and lose a game they shouldn’t. That has not been the case for William Penn High School of New Castle. Delaware.

Pat Banning is a big young man with even bigger dreams and goals. As a junior, the 6-foot-2, 290-pound offensive lineman helped Neumann-Goretti finish with a 9-5 record and provide the muscle behind an offense that produced 1,429 yards through the air with 13 touchdowns and 2,282 yards on the ground and another 24 touchdowns.

In 1982, I went to my rookie training camp with the Dallas Cowboys. We had 15 rookie drafted players (it was a 12-round draft then), and they had signed 103 rookie free agents. It added up to a grand total of 118 rookies, and along with selected veterans, made for a great proving ground. I was undrafted, a free-agent signing and NOBODY knew my name. But we had 10 days of 2-a-day practices in full pads every morning and afternoon every day for 10 days before the veterans showed up.
