Tom Coughlin stood in the coaches’ locker room inside the Quest Diagnostics Training Center today and said, “This is not my favorite day by a longshot.”
And today is his birthday.
But it’s also cutdown day in the NFL. Every team had to reach the regular-season roster limit of 53 players by 6 p.m. For the Giants, that meant removing 22 players from the team. Saying goodbye to both veterans and youngsters is arguably Coughlin’s least-favorite task as a head coach.
