NFL training camps aren’t what they used to be, thanks to the 2011 collective bargaining agreement and coaches understandably fearful of seeing players suffer injuries. Gone are the days of twice-daily practices, players in full pads for every workout and frequent tackling. The Giants are one of many teams that refrain from tackling in camp practices.

McNabb retires owning virtually every passing record in Eagles history. He quarterbacked nine playoff wins during his 11-year career in Philadelphia.
The Giants’ general manager told a crowd of reporters at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center that it is 190 days until Super Bowl XLVIII, which will be played on the team’s home field in MetLife Stadium.
“We’re going to put up in the locker room our countdown, so our guys can see how urgent it is to be ready to go every week,” Reese said. “You can’t let games get away from you and expect to make the playoffs. So we’ve got to have a sense of urgency going into this season.”
Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will formally announce his retirement as an Eagle on Monday, July 29th. He and Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie will hold a press conference at the NovaCare Complex at 10 am.
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who led the team with 69 catches for 857 yards and seven touchdowns last season, tore the ACL in his right knee in a non-contact drill Saturday and is expected to be out for the season.
