Before heading to Syracuse, Pugh attended Council Rock-School South in Holland, Pennsylvania. He was named to the 2008 Pennsylvania Football News All-State Second Team for defense. He earned all-area and All-Suburban One League First Team honors as a junior and senior and named second-team all-area as a defensive lineman as a senior. He was named 2008 team MVP and defensive player of the year as a team captain. As a sophomore, he earned second-team all-area honors as an offensive tackle.

Vince Kowalski arrived at Villanova joining a football program right after it won a National title in 2009 and reached the National semifinals in 2010.
The Wildcats were on a run of success that had gone on for many years.
But graduation hit the Nova program badly after the 2010 season and coach Andy Talley was faced with the reality of having to play a lot of freshmen in 2011.
The 2011 season was the definition of the term “Baptism Under Fire” for many of the freshmen.

Every football coach will tell you that a third of any game is special teams. But not every coach spends a third of their practice time sharpening the many blades of special teams. As a result, most special teams aren’t special. They are just teams.

That’s what the Eagles were the past two seasons under special team coordinator Bobby April. They were teams. One additional truism from all special team coaches are that “we want to win two games each year because of our special teams and we want to never lose a game because of poor special team play.”

The Philadelphia Soul will play the Jacksonville Sharks in the American Conference Championship to advance to ArenaBowl XXXVI. The game is between the top two seeds of the conference. Kickoff is set for Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. ET in Jacksonville. The two teams faced off in last season’s American Conference Championship when the Soul won, 89-34. With a win, the Soul will advance to the ArenaBowl to for the second consecutive season
