Congratulations are in order for St. Joe’s Prep (13-3) for winning the PIAA AAAA State Championship and for also being selected as the No. 1 ranked team in the final Footballstories Super 30 High Schol Football teams for 2013.
The Hawks body of work in the playoffs was the difference as the Prep was able to hang in there while its starting quarterback and leader Chris Martin was on the mend from a leg injury.
Cherokee won the South Jersey Group V title and finished No. 2

Imhotep Charter (11-2) remains at the Top spot in the Footballstories Top 30 High School football teams in the Tri State area after crushing Catasauqua in the AA quarterfinals. Earlier this season the Panthers knocked off AAAA Power LaSalle 40-28 in convincing fashion showing they were a force at any level. If Coach Crosby’s team wins the State AA title, it will no doubt start discussion why they are in AA. The Panthers play Berks Catholic (14-0) in the state semifinals this Saturday Governor Mifflin in Shillington (3 p.m.).
