Their 24-17 victory last night in Washington was a microcosm of their season. They Giants fell behind by two touchdowns early, but kept grinding away and eventually took their first lead early in the fourth quarter. The victory was their fifth in six games.
The Eagles have now won four games in a row after knocking off the Arizona Cardinals 24-21 at Lincoln Financial Field in front of a crowd that has now witnessed two consecutive victories for the first time in a long time. The Birds are now 7-5 on the season.

He’s been great for Nick over the games he’s been out in terms of helping him develop. We’ve got a good situation. Jim Cordle, the Giants’ starting center in seven of the last eight games, was today placed on season-ending injured reserve with an injury to his patella tendon, which he suffered Sunday in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Cordle joins fellow offensive linemen Chris Snee and David Baas on injured reserve.
Twenty-three times in his career, Eli Manning has led the Giants from a regular-season fourth-quarter deficit or tie to a victory. On Sunday, the Giants needed No. 24 to keep them in the thick of the NFC East title chase.
It looked like they might get it, too. With 4:45 remaining, Manning threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Louis Murphy, Andre Brown added a two-point conversion and a deficit that was 15 points in the third quarter had completely evaporated. The Giants and Dallas Cowboys were tied at 21-21.
The debate will rage on well past whenever the season ends as to whom the quarterback should be next season. Conventional thinking says that Nick Foles should be named the starter for the remainder of the season to find out if he can be the franchise quarterback. W e all know that the quarterback is the cornerstone to every successful franchise. We had that with Donovan McNabb for a decade and it was a lot of fun. Can Nick be that guy?
