The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have signed S Colt Anderson off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad and released RB Joique Bell. In addition, the team released DT Pannel Egboh from the practice squad.

Originally a rookie free agent signing of Minnesota in 2009, Anderson (5-10, 194) spent his entire rookie campaign on the Vikings practice squad. He was re-signed in the 2010 offseason and spent training camp and preseason with the team before eventually being released as part of their final roster cutdown. He then re-signed to their practice squad on September 7 and remained there for the first eight games of the season.

A three-year All-Big Sky conference selection at Montana, Anderson made 40 consecutive starts at safety from his sophomore to senior seasons. He finished his career ranked fifth in school history with 313 tackles, while adding eight interceptions, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one sack. A team captain as a senior in 2008, Anderson earned All-America honors after tying Montana’s single-season mark with 129 tackles.

The 25-year-old Anderson attended Butte High School (MT), earning all-state accolades as a senior.

He will wear #30.
