STEVE ADDAZIO

Temple University has scheduled a Thursday morning press conference to announce the hiring of a new head football coach.  The Associated Press, citing an unnamed, says it will be Steve Addazio, who is the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at the University of Florida.

The Farmington, Conn native will replace Al Golden, who left to take over the University of Miami program.  Addazio was also the Gators associate head coach and was credited with keeping together the school’s 2010 recruiting class after head coach Urban Meyer took a leave of absence because of health concerns.

Before joining the Owls fulltime, Addazio will coach Florida in the Outback Bowl on January 1 against Penn State.  On North Broad Street, he will look to build on Golden’s recruiting success and 17 wins over the past two seasons.
