EAGLES NEED HELP, BUT PATH TO PLAYOFFS IS THERE AFTER FOLES-LED WIN OVER RAMS

Al Thompson

Something happened on the way to the Eagles elimination from the 2018/19 playoffs. The Birds won a game they had no business winning. After their loss to the Dallas Cowboys, all the talk was about next year and how the Eagles would rebound after losing to the LA Rams effectively ending the season with no […]

GIANTS ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION AFTER 17-0 LOSS TO TITANS

Al Thompson

EAST RUTHERFORD: The Giants had been trending up over the last five weeks, winning four of five games, and holding a slight glimmer of hope to run the table and sneak into the playoffs. That glimmer was dashed on Sunday when the playoff hopeful Tennessee Titans came to MetLife Stadium and shut down Big Blue […]

EAGLES EARLY SCORING DROUGHT HURTS BIRDS IN CRUCIAL LOSS TO DALLAS

Al Thompson

ARLINGTON: The way the Eagles lost to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at Jerry’s World in overtime is typical of how this entire season has gone. The Birds did nothing in the first half, then had the game in their hands at the end and let it slip away…again. The Eagles (6-7) trailed at halftime […]

EAGLES NOTEBOOK: ERTZ SETS EAGLES SINGLE-SEASON RECORD FOR RECEPTIONS

Staff report

Zach Ertz established a new single-season franchise record for receptions (currently 93), surpassing the previous mark of 90 set by Brian Westbrook in 2007.
Ertz’s 93 receptions are tied for the 13th-most by a TE in NFL history. He is only 7 receptions shy of becoming just the fourth TE in NFL history to reach 100 in a season, joining Jason Witten in 2012 (110), Tony Gonzalez in 2004 (102) and Dallas Clark in 2009 (100).

EAGLES SAVE SEASON WITH EPIC COMEBACK WIN OVER THE GIANTS

Al Thompson

When Giants rookie sensation Sequon Barkley scored on a 51-yard touchdown run with 4:06 left in the first half, the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles looked dead in the water, falling behind 19-3 at the Linc. The Birds were dead in the water not just for the game, the season. Then the heart this […]

WILL GOLDEN TATE HELP SPARK AN EAGLES SECOND HALF RUN?

Al Thompson

If the Eagles (4-4) defeat the Dallas Cowboys (3-5) this Sunday night (NBC, 8:20 PM) at the Linc, and the Washington Redskins lose on the road to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Birds would be tied for the lead in the NFC East. Each team would be 2-0 in division play. No one wants to […]
